Saturday the 22nd of February, was the 24th edition of the European Career Fair in Boston. Just like last year, AcademicTransfer was present with a delegation of 6 Dutch universities. More than 2000 international researchers were looking for the next step in their academic career in Europe.
Hundreds of PhD candidates, postdocs and University Teachers of MIT and Harvard University visited the stands of the Dutch delegation for a first orientation.
In total, the Dutch delegates have interviewed 172 candidates. The first signs are promising. It is very valuable to recruit these talented academics in the heart of Boston.
Also, the collaboration between AcademicTransfer as representative of the members of our cooperation and RVO and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy as representative for business has advantages. Besides the direct result of suitable candidates for our member organisations, AcademicTransfer, RVO and the Ministry have made strategic arrangements.
This partnership focuses on the development of a lasting connection with universities and colleges in the greater Boston area. We wish to build lasting connections and talent pools of candidates with specific knowledge, skills and experience. This suits our strategy starting the Working Groups Bibliometrics, Search and Community Building perfectly,
In close collaboration with the RVO, we are preparing an evaluation to take stock of the Dutch delegation’s participation of the ECF. Also, we will further develop our ideas and share the results of the relevant working groups.
